N字頭继D80也找了木村作代言D40x，这回N字頭除了D70s与行將就木的D40外，全都上千万像素门户了。除此之外也推出了DX VR新镜AF‐S DX VR Zoom Nikkor ED 55-200mmF4-5.6G。

D40x的推出無疑把D40变成了最短命的DSLR，已入手了D40衆不禁高呼:「夭寿呀!」。
